A Sanitary Survey on Mess halls in College Campus

Abstract
This survey was conducted from september 12 to October 15, 1966 to find out the sanitary status of mess halls, tea rooms, barber shops & others in college campus of Seoul National University.
Following items were checked in Sanitary Survey on 33 places :
1. Sanitary conditions checked by sanitary inspection chart.
2. The degree of coli-form group contamination in kitchen wares.
3. Air borne microbe contamination in the envi rons of mess halls, tea room, barber shop & others.
Following findings were obtained :
1) Generally speaking, sanitary status of mess halls, tea rooms, & others
was poor and there were lots of sanitary problems to be improved.
2) Kitchen wares were contaminated by coli-form group in 21.92% (Dishes31.57%, cup 26.31% spoon 21.05% dinning board 19.99% chopstick 10.52%)
3) Kitchen clothes were highly contaminated by coli-from group & the number of coil-form group decreased by washing in clean water.
4) Highly contaminated environs by air-borne microbes were found in two places.
